The Races of Valdessia

Humans
Humans in Valdessia are a diverse and adaptable race, deeply shaped by the lands they inhabit and the cultures they create. Their ability to thrive in various environments, ranging from the icy tundras of Thal’marok to the steamy jungles of Virelia, is one of their greatest strengths.
Lyrian
The Lyrians are a race of humanoids closely bound to the natural world. Though largely human in form, each Lyrian possesses distinct animalistic features corresponding to one of four racial branches: Mammalian (Sylvan), Reptilian (Siroc), Avian (Aether), and Aquatic (Nymari). They are known for their deep spiritual traditions, exceptional magical aptitude, and civilizations that exist in harmony with nature rather than in opposition to it.
They are not shapeshifters, but their animal aspects manifest physically and spiritually, and they carry ancient beliefs that their traits were blessings from the Primal Spirits of the world.

Kray
The Kray are a race of stoic, rugged, and industrious beings that inhabit the mountainous regions of the world, primarily within the Worldspine Mountains. They have deep roots in the earth, both culturally and magically, and are best known for their strength, craftsmanship, and mastery of earth magic. Resilient and determined, the Kray are a diverse people, divided into several distinct branches based on the environments in which they thrive. Despite their differences, all Kray share a bond with the land that shapes their culture, politics, and magic.
Oni
The Oni are a powerful, muscular, and deeply spiritual race that walks the line between primal instinct and technological evolution. Standing tall and broad-shouldered, Oni are often mistaken for demons or titanic warriors due to their intimidating appearance—yet their societies are diverse, complex, and driven by a unique blend of shamanistic tradition, elemental reverence, and in some cases, magitech ingenuity.

Goblin
Goblins are natural-born tinkerers, known for their unmatched ingenuity and chaotic creativity. Their minds move fast—often too fast—resulting in a trail of half-finished ideas, unexpected explosions, and occasional brilliance.
